This seems to now be out of date... when I install and run server it tells me to update the emu and gives errors????

Thanks, I have tried the new one, but when i go to connect it says steam validation rejected..

Is there any way you could make a good l4d dedicated server setup instructions, with links to the right files??

one that would work with both steam and Garena .. etc?

We`ve updated it once again...my mistake, sorry. Download it again and install it by chosing SERVER\l4d as installation folder...it works just fine now...i`ve tested it.

However... it now doesn't work again because of the new campain map.

They updated the game to version 1.0.1.5 . That`s why is not working no more. The new 1.0.1.5 patch for client will be released soon. Just be patient.

Untill then play 1.0.1.4 version. That one is still working.

If you don`t have a 1.0.1.4 version server, just make one with the Server Creator, install 1.0.1.4 total patch (that one is made for client, but it works on servers too), and then install No Steam Patch.

I have tested this method and it works just fine. Anyway..nobody plays 1.0.1.5 yet...except steam users.

Is that what you are saying? That I have patch 1.0.1.5? But that's weird... I don't even know about it! I always thought I got 1.0.1.4 ... maybe I am totally crazy, I really don't know what to do, or where's the problem. Can you help me?

i think that your client is 1014, probably the server you were trying to connect to is running 1015 version. i heard this is really a problem, since many non steam servers are now updated to 1015 but there is no client-side finalized patch 1015. to verify you client version, type version in your console. the solution is to wait until the rev crew comes up with a final update

I did it immedeately when I asked. It's 1.0.1.4. But you know... I was joining my own server. It was server that have been created by this tutorial: http://www.tutorialecstrike.com/tuto...tallation.html

it is one of your tutorials. I've thought that my server could have 1.0.1.5. and that's the problem, but... isn't it nonsense?

well, then try updating your client with the latest patch mini-update 1.0.1.4 to 1.0.1.5 BUT it's not final! you've been warned

The server is updating to the latest version by command:

-command update -game left4dead -dir . -retry

You just need the Rev Emu 9.81 R3 for Linux if you want the server to be no steam.
